Vesconite and Vesconite Hilube
Vesconite is a polymer and it falls under engineering plastics. It lasts 8 to 10 times longer than brass or bronze provided that the shaft rotation is not too high. Vesconite is no grease, long life bushings that are ideal for underwater and dirty conditions. . It can work in dust and works very well submerged in water and different fluids. It can work in various chemical applications and has excellent insulating properties against high currents of electricity. Applications include subsea equipment, turbine and mud pumps, rudders and propeller shafts, stabilisers, drilling equipment and hanger bearings. Vesconite Hilube incorporates an internal lubricant that translates into an added exceptionally low friction coefficient. Combined with excellent dimensional stability, low wear rates and a high load-bearing capacity. Hilube has a PV rating (pressure x velocity) four times that of nylon bushings.
ENGINEERING PLASTICS
PTFE
PTFE is a very useful material because it has a unique combination of properties. PTFE is chemically inert, weather able, excellent electrical insulation, high temperature resistance, a low coefficient of friction and non-adhesive properties. PTFE is a fluorocarbon solid, as it is a high-molecular-weight compound consisting wholly of carbon and fluorine. It is often referred to as "Teflon". "Teflon" is the original trade name registered by the original developers and the name "Teflon" is often incorrectly used to refer to Engineering Plastics in general.
PTFE can also be supplied impregnated with other substances like bronze, glass or carbon in different quantities in order to gain specific features for different application requirements.
Polyethylene
Polyethylene is supplied in high and ultra-high density as required by specific applications. It is suitable for applications like chain guides and wear strips on various industrial, railway and agricultural applications.
Celeron
Celeron are generally supplied as a fabric based laminate for mechanical applications like wear strips and bushes or a paper based laminate for electrical applications for insulation against normal to high electric current. Various grades are available for various extreme applications. More information is available upon request.
